Known collectively as the Dynamic Supervision Project (DSP), the Static-99R, Stable-2007, and Acute-2007 are among the most commonly used tools of their type, although the latter measure has not necessarily enjoyed the same popularity as its stablemates. That said, recent research points to the Acute-2007 as having helpful utility in aiding case managers and clinicians as they attempt to provide evidence-based, empirically sound interventions using in-the-moment data and perspectives. In this interactive workshop, we will review the basic scoring criteria of the Acute-2007 prior to focusing primarily on the measure’s utility in clinical case management, focusing on risk and need elements but, ultimately, emphasizing responsivity considerations.

Objectives:

Through involvement in this workshop, participants will critically review the tenets of the Risk, Need, Responsivity model as it applies to sexual violence prevention.
Through involvement in this workshop, participants will refresh their knowledge and understanding of the items of Acute-2007, as well as their place in the DSP framework.
Through involvement in this workshop, participants will learn the utility of current dynamic risk assessment data in the construction of evidence-based treatment regimens and case management strategies.

Speaker Info:
Robin J. Wilson is a Canadian board-certified Clinical Psychologist who has worked in sexual violence prevention for 42 years in hospital, academic, correctional, civil management, and law enforcement settings. He has published and presented internationally on topics related to sexuality and social deviance, including several books. His current interests focus on ensuring responsive interventions for persons with special needs, in addition to providing criminal behavior analysis for law enforcement. He maintains a private practice with offices in Sarasota, FL and Millbrook, ON.
