This 3-hour presentation examines the research literature on ADHD, neurodiversity, and sexuality, with a specific focus on juvenile and adult sexual offending. Emphasis is placed on how ADHD-related features intersect with sexual behavior, risk, assessment, and treatment for individuals with a sexual offense history. Topics include defining neurodiversity; current research on ADHD and sexuality; indicators of ADHD; and key considerations such as impulsivity, hypersexuality, sexual eagerness, transitions, distraction, sensory processing differences, and hyperfocus. Additional areas of focus may include anxiety, sexual dysfunction, and sexual victimization among neurodivergent populations.

The presentation uses a didactic, slide-based format with brief case examples involving both juvenile and adult clients. Treatment adaptations, responsivity factors, and the importance of skill-building and symptom management will be highlighted. A 15-minute break is included, with limited time allocated for Q&A.

The session is presented by Dr. Lyne Piché, a Registered Psychologist with 26 years of experience in forensic psychology. Since 1998, she has provided assessment and treatment services for individuals who have committed violent and sexual offenses within Canadian federal and provincial correctional settings, including long-term incarceration assessments. Since 2009, she has also provided sexual therapy, couples counselling, relationship counselling, and trauma therapy in private practice. Dr. Piché is an EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist and a frequent presenter on sexuality, neurodivergence, and risk assessment. She is the co-author of Working with Offenders who View Online Child Sexual Exploitation Images and the author of ADHD and Sex: A Workbook for Exploring Sexuality and Increasing Intimacy. She offers online education and clinician masterclasses focused on ADHD and sexuality.
