Join us for an engaging Community of Practice conversation with Luke Malone, an award-winning journalist and producer who has spent the last 15 years reporting on sexual harm and prevention.

Luke will explore why prevention isn’t just the job of specialists—it’s the responsibility of everyone in the room, including those providing direct services to survivors. Drawing from his upcoming book, One in Five, and his work reframing prevention through unexpected but powerful parallels (think: how we talk about car crashes and public safety), Luke will challenge how we communicate about sexual harm—and why that communication matters.

This session will also dig into real-world hurdles to prevention work, with space for open discussion, reflection, and shared problem-solving. Expect thoughtful insights, practical reframes, and a conversation that expands how we think about prevention as a collective effort.

About the speaker:

Luke Malone is a journalist and producer whose work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, TIME, ATSA’s Sexual Abuse, HBO, and more. His forthcoming book, One in Five: Why Child Sexual Abuse Is Our Biggest Public Health Crisis—and What We Can Do to Stop It, co-authored with Dr. Elizabeth Letourneau, will be released August 18.
