SUMMARY:Adult Community of Practice: The Blurry Line Between Healthy and Unhealthy Sexuality
DESCRIPTION:Adult Community of Practice: The Blurry Line Between Healthy and Unhealthy SexualityWhat does healthy sexuality look like for individuals who have engaged in sexual offending behavior? And how do we help clients navigate the sometimes blurry line between healthy sexual expression and behaviors that may be concerning or harmful?Join ATSA's Adult Community of Practice for an interactive discussion exploring the role of healthy sexuality in treatment. We'll examine frameworks for defining healthy sexuality\, why promoting healthy sexual expression is an important part of treatment\, and how to help clients recognize and navigate sexual boundaries.Through case examples and group discussion\, participants will explore practical ways to incorporate conversations about healthy sexuality into their clinical work.Bring your questions\, experiences\, and case examples! This is an opportunity to learn from one another\, share perspectives\, and explore the complexities of supporting healthy sexuality while addressing sexually harmful behavior.About the Presenter:Nikole Nassen\, Ph.D.\, is a clinical psychologist and the director of the Sex Offender Treatment Program at Naval Consolidated Brig Miramar. She has worked with individuals who have expressed non-traditional sexual interests in the context of sex offense treatment and has provided trainings and consultations on this population. Dr. Nassen has been a member of ATSA since 2014 and is currently the Training Coordinator for the California Association for Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse (CalATSA).
