DESCRIPTION:Prevention Community of Practice: Communicating Prevention and Early Intervention\; Evidence\, Ethics\, and Public CredibilitySexual abuse causes serious and lasting harm. Prevention efforts depend not only on effective services\, but also on how those services are communicated to the public\, referral partners\, and communities.This Prevention Community of Practice session will explore practical strategies for communicating about perpetration prevention and early intervention in ways that are evidence-based\, ethically grounded\, and publicly credible. Participants will discuss common communication challenges\, approaches for building trust and clarity in prevention messaging\, and how language choices can shape public understanding of prevention work.Presenter Ainslie Heasman of Canada's national perpetration prevention program\, Talking for Change\, will also discuss lessons learned about increasing uptake in prevention-oriented services through the program's work and outreach efforts.This session is designed for prevention professionals\, clinicians\, researchers\, educators\, and others interested in strengthening public-facing communication about sexual harm prevention and early intervention.
