Join estate planning and administration attorney Tasha Lyn Cosimo of Betts Patterson Mines, PS, licensed in Oregon and Washington, for a practical two-part webinar designed specifically for members of the Washington Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse. This program combines essential estate planning education with targeted guidance for licensed mental and behavioral health professionals in Washington and is tailored to address both personal planning needs and professional practice responsibilities.
Part One: Estate Planning Fundamentals. The first part of the session will provide a clear and accessible overview of estate planning and administration fundamentals, including wills, trusts, and incapacity planning; beneficiary designations and coordination; probate and trust administration; and estate and post-death tax considerations. This segment is designed to equip attendees with practical knowledge to make informed decisions about protecting their families, assets, and long-term intentions.
Part Two: Planning and Logistics for Mental and Behavioral Health Professionals: The second part of the session is specifically designed for professionals licensed in Washington and will focus on the ethical, legal, and operational responsibilities unique to clinical practice. Topics will include designating professional successors and custodians, planning for incapacity or death while in active practice, ethical duties related to client records, confidentiality, and continuity of care in the context of estate planning, and business and practice succession planning.
About the Trainer:
Tasha Lyn Cosimo is an Attorney in the Betts Patterson Mines Business Transactions Practice Group, and focuses on estate planning and estate administration, including trust administration and probate, in both Oregon and Washington.
She has been practicing law in Oregon since 2011, and in Washington since 2015, and has been practicing estate planning and administration exclusively since 2020. She has significant experience with the preparation of wills and trusts, formation of business entities, trust administration, and probate administration, including wrongful death probates. She also has experience with minor settlements and preparation of estate tax returns.
Tasha understands that estate planning can be daunting, and estate administration even more so. However, both are essential and best navigated with the support of a skilled, qualified team. Tasha’s goal is to empower clients, ensuring the process is handled with compassion, organization, efficiency, and full legal compliance.
