Dr. Evin Daly
About
Evin M. Daly, PhD, is a forensic sociologist and forensic behavioral analyst specializing in the dynamics of violent, abusive, and coercive behavior. He is the CEO of Behavioral Forensics LLC (www.bfll.net), a consultancy providing analytical, investigative, and specialist support to attorneys, courts, and clients involved in complex domestic abuse, child welfare, and family litigation—particularly cases involving children. The firm also delivers judicial and professional training on the behavioral dynamics of coercive control and intimate partner abuse.
Dr. Daly holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Lancashire (UK), where his doctoral research examined LGBT+ intimate partner abuse, with a primary focus on bisexual intimate partner abuse (IPA). His research addresses a significant gap by centering bisexual experiences—an often under-theorized population that consistently reports elevated rates of relationship abuse. Using sociological and criminological frameworks, his work examines how minority stress, identity erasure, cumulative trauma, and power dynamics shape patterns of abuse, disclosure, credibility, and help-seeking, with direct implications for forensic assessment and family-court decision-making.
He holds a Master’s degree (with distinction) in Criminology, a Postgraduate Certificate in Behavioral Forensic Psychology, and previously studied Business at Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin). Dr. Daly is a Guest Lecturer at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, where he teaches master’s and doctoral students in Psychology on intimate partner abuse, coercive control, behavioral analysis and courtroom experiences.
Dr. Daly is a Certified Forensic Interviewer (CFI) of adults and children, specializing in the investigation of child sexual abuse. He has completed advanced professional training with the FBI (Academy Group) in the analysis of sexual and violent criminal behaviors, and holds specialist qualifications from the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) in London relating to the assessment and interviewing of sexual offenders who target children.
For more than two decades, he has served as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem in child welfare, domestic violence, and family court proceedings. During that time he also spent 18 years as CEO of One Child International, a child protection and advocacy agency operating in the U.S. and Ireland.
Dr. Daly is the author of two books on child abuse and domestic violence and is frequently engaged for expert consultation, training, and media commentary
