As a clinical sexologist, psychotherapist, phalloclinician, sexological expert, and hypnotherapist, Marie-Sylvie Poissant provides sexological assessments or expertise, as well as private consultations tailored to individuals who have committed sexual offenses (i.e. individuals awaiting sentencing, sentenced, under court order, or post-sentenced). The assessments involve a process of evaluating sexual pathologies or delinquency for the purpose of examining the boundaries associated with assessing the risk of recurrence. The target clientele includes: (1) voluntary individuals (self-referred, family, CIUSSS, others) or (2) those with legal or penal constraints (DPJ order or report, judges or lawyers, Correctional Service of Canada, Correctional Services of Quebec, Provincial or Federal Parole Board). She acts as a sexological expert with the Amorce Group. Finally, she conducts penile plethysmography tests (i.e., penile or phallometric testing) in the capacity of a certified analyst and technician.
