Kevin Kimbrough's career in law enforcement and polygraph spans over 25 years, starting as a patrol and canine officer at the Salisbury Police Department, later transitioning to an investigative role as an agent with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. There, he investigated various crimes, ranging from high profile criminal investigations to counter terrorism working with the FBI on the Joint Terrorism Task Force, and combating child sexual exploitation in the Computer Crimes Unit (CCU). While working in the CCU, Kevin became a certified polygraph examiner in 2012, and was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge in 2015. He has aided numerous law enforcement agencies across the state in complex investigations with his polygraph expertise.

He opened Kimbrough Consulting, LLC in 2018, conducting Post Conviction Sex Offender Testing (PCSOT) in Georgia for state probation and therapist.  In 2023, Kevin was licensed by the North Carolina (License number: 820008-P), where he conducts PCSOT exams for state and federal probation and therapist and recently licensed in South Carolina (License number: 103) to offer the same services. 

Kevin holds a bachelor’s degree from Catawba College, an MBA from Pfeiffer University, and a Graduate Certificate in Criminal Justice Education from Methodist University.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Kevin is dedicated to advancing the field of polygraph through ongoing education and collaboration, by being an active member in the American Polygraph Association, the American Association of Police Polygraphist, a board member of the North Carolina Polygraph Association and ATSA.
