Since 2016, Box Elder Behavioral Health LLC has provided evidence-based mental and behavioral health services through secure telehealth to children ages 8 and older, adolescents, and adults across Virginia, New Mexico, and North Carolina. Our services include individual and couples therapy, support groups, psychosexual assessments, and specialized treatment for anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, substance use, behavioral addictions, problematic sexual behaviors, and sex offense-specific concerns. Our clinicians use structured, skills-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to promote accountability, risk reduction, personal growth, and long-term recovery.

We also collaborate with attorneys, probation and parole officers, healthcare providers, and other referral professionals to promote continuity of care and ensure services align with each client’s clinical and legal needs.

Role Description

This is a part-time, remote independent contractor position for a Psychosexual Assessment and Treatment Clinician providing services throughout North Carolina. The Clinician will conduct comprehensive psychosexual evaluations for individuals referred by legal systems, mental health providers, Department of Social Services (DSS), and other community organizations.

Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing relevant client histories and collateral information; conducting clinical interviews; administering and interpreting appropriate assessment instruments within the clinician’s scope of practice; and preparing thorough evaluation reports that include clinical findings, risk considerations, treatment recommendations, and other relevant recommendations.

In addition to completing assessments, the Clinician will provide ongoing, evidence-informed therapy to appropriate clients following their evaluations. This may include developing individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, addressing problematic or harmful sexual behaviors, supporting relapse-prevention and risk-management goals, monitoring treatment progress, and updating interventions as clinically appropriate.

The Clinician will collaborate with referral sources, attorneys, probation or court personnel, treatment providers, and other authorized professionals to support continuity of care and alignment with clinical or legal goals. Additional responsibilities include maintaining timely, accurate, and confidential documentation; complying with applicable ethical, legal, telehealth, and professional standards; participating in case consultation as needed; and communicating professionally with clients, referral sources, and members of the Box Elder Behavioral Health team.

Responsibilities

• - Conduct comprehensive psychosexual assessments, including clinical interviews, sexual and behavioral histories, and review of collateral records.
• - Administer, score, and interpret appropriate psychometric and assessment instruments.
• - Prepare clear, objective, and timely reports with clinical findings and treatment recommendations.
• - Provide individual and/or group therapy following assessments, as clinically appropriate.
• - Develop and update treatment plans addressing problematic sexual behaviors, accountability, relapse prevention, emotional regulation, and risk management.
• - Monitor client progress and complete timely clinical documentation.
• - Communicate with administrative staff regarding required records, assessment status, and client progress.
• - Collaborate with referral sources, attorneys, probation or parole officers, and treatment teams, as authorized.
• - Maintain ethical, confidential, and legally compliant assessment and treatment records.
• - Adhere to licensing requirements, professional standards, and applicable legal and telehealth regulations.
• - Participate in case consultation and supervision as required.

Qualifications

• - Active, unrestricted North Carolina license as an LPC, LCSW, or licensed psychologist; additional licensure in Virginia is a plus but not required.
• - Master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited program.
• - Minimum of five years of experience conducting psychosexual evaluations.
• - Experience administering, scoring, and interpreting psychosexual and psychological assessment instruments, including the SAI and Millon inventories.
• - Demonstrated experience providing sex offense-specific treatment.
• - Strong psychosexual assessment, clinical interpretation, and report-writing skills.
• - Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals, including legal, correctional, and healthcare providers.
• - Familiarity with HIPAA requirements and applicable confidentiality standards.
• - Ability to maintain thorough, timely, and legally compliant clinical documentation.
• - Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• - Experience working with children and adults, with a willingness to provide psychosexual assessment and treatment services across all applicable age groups.
